"Always" is a pretty strong word to use. Care to back up that claim that they are "always" biased towards the 360? By the way, your "on topic" comment is more off-topic than anything else said here (reported).

He criticizes the current games because we already have games that can emulate how choices have a consequence (i.e. Mass Effect is the example the author uses in the article). So, why not? If Bioware has done it, why can't someone else apply the same type of system to a superhero game?

Like Kon said, if you actually READ the article, you would see that it is addressing the shortcomings of ALL superhero videogames. It is not singling out DCUO by itself, but the spectrum as a whole in address how videogames cannot capture the psychological and environmental effects of one's actions on the alter ego (i.e. Bruce Wayne)

True it captures the essence of what it means to be Batman. However, did Arkham Aslyum fully capture what it is like being Bruce Wayne and his struggle with keeping up the Batman mantra? How about seeing consequences of his actions and how it affects the people around him? That is what this article is addressing. Although videogames can capture the essence of the action and spectacle of the superhero, it cannot demonstrate the psychological and lasting effects unless you delve into a Heavy Ra...

A 1 day benchmark means peanuts in the overall perspective of the stock market. That 1% down is only .36 cents. On the contrary, Microsoft has been up ~$3.00 on a 3 Months time period. The ultimate test for MSFT is the quarterly earnings report, which will drive how much they actually made from the gross sales.

My bad, I couldn't read the website, so I made an assumption based upon other website's descriptions. Although, I still foresee issues in the lawsuit, especially given the nature of the whole thing. It will be interesting to see if this issue gets elevated to the Supreme Court.

The issue with that case is that MP3 piracy was where you shared the music "you bought" with people who "did not buy" the music. In this case they are arguing about jail-breaking, which can lead to piracy, not piracy itself. Also, people already "bought" their PS3s, so does that give them the right to mess with what "they bought"? That is the question that the court will be looking at and it gets to be a sticky situation especially when you consider pas...

Yes. It has happened very recently. Apple sued the people who jailbreaked the iPhone, and the court overturned their claim, which granted consumers the legal right to jailbreak their phones.

I have a feeling the same outcome will occur if this ever goes to court (Sony and the hackers will most likely settle out of court to avoid this outcome).

Additionally history has not favored companies when it comes to lawsuits where consumers vs. the companies. (Hackers ...

The shots of the new device isn't the PSP2. This section of the magazine is simply a supposition of what the PSP2 and PSP Phone can be and how the two products can fit in the realm of other smartphones and handheld gaming devices. The description also notes that the pictures shown are most likely out of date because a new PSP2 development kit was released which kept the original PSP design rather than the PSPgo one due to overheating issues. An interesting read nonetheless.

I never denied that journalistic bias exists. Additionally, MSNBC and Fox News are biased based on facts of how they report and what they report. We can truly see how they are biased through outlets such as The Daily Show and the Colbert Report who explicitly notices their inconsistencies time after time.

The "conspiracy theory" or for a better word, notion, of Digital Foundry's bias is unfounded. You mention that they are clearly biased against the PS3 in their...

Biased? Is Digital Foundry biased when they praised and gushed over the implementation of MLAA in GOW3 and even giving so much praise to Sony Santa Monica? Is Digital Foundry biased when it extensively covered the philosophy and tech of Naughty Dog for Uncharted 2, which they mentioned could be of help to many other developers? FAR FAR from it. Digital Foundry is enamored with all of the tech that Sony's first party developers have put forth and constantly use it as a benchmark when they ...

He doesn't need to see worldwide sales. He is an analyst in the UNITED STATES. Hence, he only needs to report on US SALES, because that is relevant to his work.

This author can claim Sony's numbers are shipped and MS's are sold because it was explicitly stated in each company's press releases. Not to mention Major Nelson, the Xbox Community Manager(?), clarified and mentioned that Microsoft's numbers were sold to individual customers.

I can understand why it's a bit of an acquired taste. They are more so conversational and joke all the time. For me,I dislike the serious sounding podcasts like MaximumPC. I listened to it and was bored to death with the people on there. Regardless, I still there is some value in each podcast. Just depends on the audience and tastes.

@I agree! It's good to have a well worded debate. Cheers!

I'm honestly not surprised by the sales. GT5P pretty much sold 400K during it's debut, so I had a feeling that GT5 would show about the same.

No, Greg Miller loves Uncharted. Colin is the one who doesn't like it. But, before you chastise him, Colin has openly professed his love for the Resistance franchise.

Additionally, if you'd have listened to a lot of their previous podcasts, you would see that they are CLEARLY PS3 fanboys (they even mentioned that a multiplatform game, Prototype, sucks compared to inFamous).

And, for your information: I gain value of listening to their opinions of how ...

It's basically a play on an early marketing campaign for the PS3, where the narrator says "Play B3yond". Podcast Beyond adopted the dialog line, so whenever they start or end the podcast, they say BEYOND. Hope that helps :).

Guo Hai (Wei general)

I honestly do not know why the latter 3 are under Jin, because they either died or defected. I think it could be because the game will be doing "What-If" scenarios.
